Arlowayne (Blada) Wegner, age 91, of Montello, was called to heaven on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at home with her family by her side.  She was born on March 24, 1925, in the town of Buffalo, Marquette County, a daughter of Walter and Elba (Owens) Blada.  Arlowayne attended Russell Grade School and was a 1942 graduate of Montello High School.  She then furthered her education at Green Lake County Normal School, graduating with a teaching degree.  She began her teaching career at Green Lake Center and taught for 7 years.  Arlowayne married Wilbert Wegner on June 5, 1948, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello, having a double wedding ceremony with her sister, Marion and Edmund Zuehls.

 She was a proud farm wife, working side by side with Wilbert, and raising her family.  Arlowayne  also enjoyed serving her community on the Montello School Board and serving as the clerk for the town of Mecan for many years.  Arlowayne and Wilbert were members of Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Big Mecan) of Montello.

Arlowayne is survived by her children, Greg (Betty) Wegner of Princeton, Gary Wegner of Pensacola, FL, Cheryl Wegner of Princeton, John (Nancy) Wegner of Montello; daughter-in-law, Marvis Wegner of Montello; brothers, Ronald (Evelyn) Blada of Montello, Walter (June) Blada of Neshkoro, Donald (Judy) Blada of Coloma; 4 grandchildren, Aaron (Alicia) Wegner, Jacob (Jennifer) Wegner, James (Sarah) Wegner all of Princeton; Heather (Kurt) Schwochert of Montello; 9 great grandchildren, Travis, Tanya, Trenton, Kyle, Tori, Taylor and Carson Wegner; Dillan and Joshua Schwochert; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by, her husband of 60 years, Wilbert Wegner,  her parents, Walter and Elba Blada; son, Dennis and his first wife, Gloria (Priebe) Wegner; infant granddaughter, Sarah Wegner; special sister, Marion Zuehls and sister, Delores Wartgow; brothers, Wesley Blada, Stanley Blada, Richard Blada; her casino chauffeur and cohort, Paul Nikolai.

A visitation for Arlowayne Wegner will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 4:00- 8:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton.  A funeral service for Arlowayne will take place on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with a one hour visitation prior to the service, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church ( Big Mecan), W1568 Evergreen Ave., of Montello.  Pastor Peter Zietlow will conduct the service.  Arlowayne will be laid to rest following the service at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery.  Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send condolences to the family.
