Arvilla L. Stibb

Arvilla L. Stibb, age 90, of Markesan, passed away peacefully Monday morning October 9, 2017, at the Barrett House in Markesan, which was her home for the past 6 years.  Arvilla was born on May 6, 1927, in the town of Mecan, Germania.  She was the daughter of Edward and Linda (Kemnitz) Weber.  Arvilla attended Sunnyside School through the eighth grade.  On November 25, 1943, she married Orlo Stibb at the former St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Germania.  Together they farmed in the town of Mecan near Germania.  Arvilla also worked outside the home as a sewing machine operator for the Handcraft Company and later for Snitz's.

Arvilla was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton for many years as well as a member of the Gleaners.  In her free time, she liked playing cards, making sauerkraut, and in her younger days, enjoyed making filled doughnuts with her neighbors and friends.  What she loved most was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Arvilla is survived by her 3 children, Bonnie Klingbeil of Ripon, Vernon Stibb of Princeton, Betty (Gregory) Wegner of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Jeff (Shawn) Klingbeil, Danielle (Scott) Krueger, Nicholas Stibb, Aaron (Alicia) Wegner, Jacob (Jennie) Wegner, James (Sarah) Wegner; 13 great grandchildren, Alexis (Jerrod) Ferron, Spencer and Hazel Stibb, Jazmine, Joseph and Davina Krueger, Taylor, Travis, Trenton, Tanya, Carson, Kyle, and Tori Wegner; 1 great great grandchild, Kaydon Ferron; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Orlo Stibb;  1 son, Wilmard Stibb; her parents, Edward and Linda Weber; brother, Winfred Weber; son-in-law, Gerald Klingbeil; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herman and Irene Stibb; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. 

A funeral service for Arvilla L. Stibb will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton.  Pastor John Stelter will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Germania Lutheran Cemetery.  Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send a condolence or to share a story or memory of Arvilla with her family.
