Donald Benedict Obituary

Donald Benedict, age 85, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at his home.  He was born on September 26, 1932, in Shenandoah, IA, a son of Ray and Iva (Wills) Benedict.  Don proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.  On August 16, 1952, Don married Carolyn Kunard in Aurora, IL.  He had worked for Crafts Precision in the sales department, selling diamond tip cutting tools.  Don was a member of the Federated Church in Green Lake, the American Legion Post 306 of Green Lake and the Masonic Lodge 0095 of Ripon.  He enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing sheepshead with his Legion buddies in Princeton, golfing and deer hunting. 

Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn Benedict of Princeton; 3 children, Christine Benedict of Princeton, Richard (Carolyn) Benedict of Fond du Lac, Kathy Logue of Princeton; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Iva Benedict; 2 brothers, Forest and Floyd Benedict; 2 sisters, Thelma Swalley and Marie Konen. 

There will be a Celebration of life for Donald Benedict at a later date.  He will be buried at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville, IL.  Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send a condolence or to share a memory of Donald with his family.
