Harry T. Treder

December 1, 1930 ~ September 3, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old


Harry T. Treder, age 86, of Princeton, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 3, 2017.  He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on December 1, 1930, the son of Harry S. and Clara (Jozwiak) Treder.  He met Irene at a dance at the Eagles Club in Milwaukee on Christmas Day in 1949.  On September 30, 1950, they were married at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Milwaukee.  Before starting his own business, H. Treder and Sons in Princeton, Harry had worked for Modular Woodworking and American Motors in Milwaukee.  As a family business, he had received numerous roofing awards from the Duro-Last Company.  Harry was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton.  He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus.  Harry had many interests and hobbies including woodworking, reading, playing cards and driving his 1930 Studebaker.  He also enjoyed going out to eat, hunting, walking in the woods and getting stuck on the Soda farm with his golf cart.  Last, but not least, he was known for dancing with his bride at Stanley's in Oshkosh, Heidel House in Green Lake, Silvercryst in Wautoma and many other places.

Harry is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Irene Treder of Princeton; 6 children, Roseann (John) Zinke of Stockton, CA., Robert (Marlene) Treder of Princeton, Rita (David) Rennert of Oshkosh, Romayne (Gordy Goretzki) Borzick of Princeton, Rozy (Mark) Evans of Berlin,  Richard “Poncho” (Jennifer) Treder of Princeton; 21 grandchildren, Robin Treder, Julie Librizzi, Thomas Treder, Michael Treder; Brenda Larson, Kelly Finup, Randi Schmidt; Jacob Borzick, Jeremiah Borzick, Rachel Borzick, Zachary Borzick; Charlotte Evans, Angie Evans, Vincent Evans; Noah Treder, Madeline Treder, Hailey Treder, Nicholas Treder; Jessie Pipp, Luke Freeman; Gary Rennert; 13 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Doug Freeman; 2 sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Gene) Kotowski of Milwaukee,  Sophie Veker of Anchorage, AK; other relatives and friends; special friends, Ken and Eunice Soda and family, Bob and Karen Wendt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry S. and Clara Treder; daughter, Ruth Freeman; son-in-law, Keven Rogers. 

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, Sept. 7, from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with Father Philip Krogman conducting the Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St. in Princeton. A Memorial Mass for Harry T. Treder will be held on Friday, Sept. 8, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton.  Father Dale Grubba will conduct the service.  Burial will follow the service at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. John the Baptist Catholic School, 125 Church St., Princeton, WI 54968 or to Agnesian Hospice Hope, 745 South St., Green Lake, WI 54941.
