I worked at Henrotin Hospital during the 1970's as a high school and college student. It was an honor to have met Dr. Groves on many occasions on the orthopedic floor and at many hospital functions that he and his wife attended. One of the most inspiring and memorable recollections that I will always have is watching and listening to Dr. Groves play the banjo at the hospital Christmas party! He was a very skilled surgeon, kind and compassionate with all of his patients and he could play the banjo!! A life well lived--he will be missed by everyone who knew him.

It was a great pleasure and privilege to have Dr. Groves as my friend for the last 37 years. I will always treasure the golf games and the time spent together talking about life, sports, politics and whatever else came to mind. You'll be truly missed.
