Marion D. Prochnow, age 88, of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Markesan Resident Home.  She was born on March 2, 1929, at home in Wauwatosa, WI, a daughter of Edward Leonard and Elsie Jessie (Lange) Manthey.   Marion was baptized at home by Pastor Erich M. Kelly on April 10, 1929.  On April 18, 1943, at the age of 14, Marion was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton by Rev. Harold Warnke.   In 1947, she graduated from Princeton High School and went to work at Speed Queen as a secretary where she worked until 1954.  Marion was united in marriage to Milton Erwin Prochnow on November 28, 1953, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton by Rev. Walter Strohschein.   She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  Marion was a hospice volunteer and delivered tapes to shut-ins for St. John's Lutheran Church of Markesan.  She loved to write people letters and would not leave a blank space.  Marion also enjoyed gardening, babysitting her grandchildren, vacations with family and friends to New York, Boston, Tennessee, Florida, Las Vegas, out West, and shopping trips to Chicago. 

Marion is survived by her husband of 63 years, Milton Prochnow of Markesan; 5 children, Patrice (Robert) Resheske of Lomira, Janice (Paul) Obry of Eldorado, Cynthia (Tim) Pagel of Beaver Dam, Sandria (Steve) Schmitz of Fond du Lac, Ronald (Alison) Prochnow of Reedsville; 9 grandchildren, Ryan (Chelsie) Obry, Craig (fianceé, Caitlyn Rusch) Obry; Stacy (fiancé, Daniel Buechel), Megan, Katie and Emily Schmitz; Benjamin, Zachary and Joshua (J.J.) Prochnow; 1 great grandchild, Trey Obry; sister, Eleanor Griffin of Markesan; 2 sisters-in-law, Dolores Manthey of Franklin, Loraine Lohrey of Markesan; brother-in-law, Lorenz Prochnow of Markesan; many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elsie Manthey; brothers, Erwin and Alvin Manthey; brother-in-law, Howard Griffin. 

Per her wishes, there will be a private family burial in the Markesan Memorial Cemetery at a later date.  A memorial has been established to either St. John's Lutheran Church of Markesan, 93 W.
