Matthew Acker Obituary

Matthew “Matty” Acker, age 91, of Germania, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI. He was born at home on July 24, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, a son of Mathias and Gertrude (Stark) Acker. Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in Germany, as a diesel mechanic. He then worked for the city of Milwaukee for 33 years as a bus driver. On May 13, 1983, Matty married Judith Hansen. They had been married 27 years before Judith’s passing in 2010.

Matty loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.

Matthew is survived by his daughter, Pamela Vesey of New Mexico; grandson, Josiah Vesey; special friends, Brett (Tammy) Weir and family of Princeton; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Gertrude Acker; wife, Judith Acker; son, Matthew Acker Jr., numerous brothers and sisters.

To honor the wishes of Matthew “Matty” Acker, there will be no service.
