Robert James Murphy

Robert James Murphy "Bob", age 59, of Neshkoro, went to his eternal home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee after a courageous battle with lymphoma.  Bob was born in Ripon on October 23, 1957, to Sylvester and Clarice (Collins) Murphy.  He was raised on the family farm.  After graduating from Princeton High School in 1975 and completing the AG Short Course in Madison, Bob purchased the family farm to become the fourth generation owner.  On November 14, 1981, he married Jill Jaster at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello. 

Bob enjoyed farming, antique tractors, deer hunting, playing cards, farm auctions, tractor pulls and spending time with family and friends.  Bob will be remembered for his wry sense of humor while describing the challenges he and Jill faced raising their family and operating their dairy farm.  Despite his health problems, Bob's steadfast faith and love was an inspiration to those who knew him.  His family will always treasure his unselfish generosity, his hard working ways, and his love of storytelling.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jill Murphy of Neshkoro; 4 children, Megan (Sam) Klapoetke of Harrisville, Marie (Shane) Streich of Harrisville, Bradley Murphy of Neshkoro, Bridget Murphy of Neshkoro; 3 grandchildren, Evelyn, Henry and Emma Klapoetke; 2 sisters, Helen (Don) Stelter of Montello, Sue (Wayne) Stelter of Montello; brother, Tom (Sue) Murphy of Neshkoro; mother-in-law, Wilma Jaster of Montello; 5 sisters-in-law, Nancy Jaster of Montello, Luann (Bob) Sittig of Wautoma, Becky (Doug) Schulz of Iron Ridge, Gail (Gary) Glunn of Montello, Kristen (Kris) Cragin of Montello; brother-in-law, Joel (Terri) Jaster of Montello; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Clarice Murphy; brother, Steven Murphy; father-in-law, Edgar Jaster.

A funeral service for Robert James Murphy will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton.  Pastor John Stelter will conduct the service.  Robert will be laid to rest following the service at the Black Creek Cemetery in the township of St. Marie.  Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send condolences to the family.
