Alan Weir Obituary

Alan P. Weir, age 76, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin on Wednesday, October 10, 2018, with his family by his side.  He was born on October 19, 1941, in Berlin, WI, a son of Aloysius R. and Marion M. (Pavelski) Weir.   Following graduation from Princeton High School in 1959,  Alan attended the Milwaukee Art School for one year.  He came back home to Princeton to marry the love of his life, Sharon Rose.  They were married on October 27, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton.  Alan became a talented carpenter and the newlyweds moved to Washington State, were they welcomed their first son, Scott.  They moved back to Princeton and continued to grow their family with the addition of two more sons, Brett and Shane.

Alan began his twenty four and a half year journey with the City of Princeton Police Department working his way up from a dispatcher, to a meter cop, then as a deputy chief and finished his police career as an investigator.

Alan was a member of  St. John's Lutheran Church of Princeton, the NRA, Police Officer Association, Wild Turkey Federation and Duck's Unlimited.  He was an avid hunter, trapper, fisherman, artist, photographer and gunsmith.  If he was not outdoors hunting or fishing, you could find him down in his gun room tinkering away.  Next to his love of outdoors, was his love for Sharon, his soul mate of 60 years, and his love for his family.  Alan was a great man, loved and respected by all.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Those Alan leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Sharon Weir of Princeton; 3 sons, Scott (Clare) Weir of Neshkoro, Brett (Tammy) Weir of Princeton, Shane (Chasity Foster) Weir of Neshkoro;  grandchildren, Morgan (Ethan) Plantz, Debbie (Carl) Zrinsky, Robert Griffin; great grandchildren, Madison Zrinsky, Emily Baker, Zaysha Foster and Stephan Foster; sister, DiAnne Semrow; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by, his parents, Aloysius R. and Marion M.
