Donna Reetz, age 80, of Neshkoro, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2019, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin. She was born on August 4, 1938, in Milwaukee, WI, a daughter of James and Ida (Burt) Hanson. Donna was a 1956 graduate of Princeton High School. On November 3, 1956, she was united in marriage to Delbert Reetz at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton.
Donna was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church of Neshkoro for over 60 years. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and for over 50 years, served on its Altar Guild and the Ladies Aid. For many years, she worked as a certified nursing assistant at Sunnyview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Princeton. Donna also worked at Seavecki’s Dime Store in Wautoma. She had many hobbies, Donna loved to sew, enjoyed making quilts for missions, knitting, embroidering, crocheting, doing puzzles and reading.
Those Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 62 years, Delbert Reetz of Neshkoro; 4 children, Robert (Shelley) Reetz of Wautoma, Debbie Wiesjahn of Coloma, Cindy Reetz of Baraboo, Glenn (Rhonda) Reetz of Neshkoro; 8 grandchildren, Bradley Bengsch, Rebecca Bengsch; Shanda (friend, Nick Barrette) Wiesjahn, Garrett Wiesjahn; Christa (fiancé, Kristopher Paradies) Reetz, Shane Reetz, Tasha Reetz; Karley (friend, Holden Smith) Reetz;7 great grandchildren, Anthony Crites, Bradley Crites; Michael Bengsch, London Getch; Christopher Bengsch, Mya Bengsch; Reagan Barrette; sister, Shirley Mike of Madison; 2 sisters-in-law, Claris Hanson of Princeton, Sandy Hanson of Fond du Lac; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ida Hanson; infant son, William; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Myrtle Reetz; son-in-law, Steven Wiesjahn; brothers, Darwin and Elroy Hanson.
A funeral service for Donna Reetz will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 227 North State St., in Neshkoro. Pastor Arthur Callies will conduct the service. Donna will be laid to rest following the service at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Neshkoro. A memorial has been established to the Zion Lutheran Church Altar Guild or the Ladies Aid.
