Evelyn E. Lesniak

Evelyn E. Lesniak, age 88, of Berlin, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017, at Brown Wilcox Retirement Home in Berlin.  She was born on September 23, 1929, in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Theodore and Thelma (Crousore) Dudzik.  Evelyn married Sylvester Lesniak on February 28, 1948.  She worked for many years as a secretary at the Berlin Veterinary Clinic.  Evelyn was a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro.  She was a member of the Catholic Women's Diocese.  Evelyn worked in the church office, taught catechism and helped out with the church picnics.  She loved being involved with her community, working with handicapped children in Green Lake Co, being an active leader with the Girl Scouts and with 4-H.   Evelyn loved arts and crafts, pottery, macrame, knitting hats for the nursing homes, and reading books.  She also loved being outdoors and gardening. 

Evelyn is survived by her children, Roberta (Walter) Naparalla of Neshkoro, Darlene Kirby of Illinois, Susan (Cary) Weiss of Berlin, David (Donna) Lesniak of Moreland, GA; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Robert Dudzik of Haynes City, FL; special grandson, Pete (Cassie) Gregor; many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Thelma Dudzik; husband, Sylvester Lesniak; daughters, Sandy, Mary; grandson, Josh.

A Memorial Mass for Evelyn E. Lesniak will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 315 N. Main St., in Neshkoro.  There will be a time of remembrance beginning  at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.  Father Dale Grubba will officiate.  Burial will follow the Mass in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Berlin.  If you prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association by going to https://alz.org.  Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send a condolence or to share a memory of Evelyn with her family.
