Jean Richter, age 75, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Prairie Place in Ripon, WI. She was born on March 29, 1944, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of DuWayne and Irmgard (Methner) Stevens and Alfred Michowski. On November 30, 1968, she married Carleton Richter at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. Jean earned her bachelor’s degree in education. She was employed as a teacher working for various schools throughout her career, teaching many different grade levels.
Jean was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Princeton. She was involved in several of the small committees within the church as well as its Vacation Bible School. She loved playing all kinds of games and for over 45 years, she enjoyed being a member of the “small card club.” Jean also enjoyed knitting and playing the piano.
Jean is survived by her 9 children, Martha Richter of Princeton, Karin (Jay) Hall of Princeton, Carter (special friend, Lori Gurke) of Princeton, Sarah (Kurt) Gosdeck of Green Bay, Marie (Terry) Van Rossum of Princeton, Carlin (Barbara) Richter of Neshkoro, Mary (Serign) Konta of Princeton, Carver Richter of Princeton, Marion "China" (Greg) Schumann of Montello; 19 grandchildren, Parker Richter; Durand and Payton Hall; Cooper, Conner, Libby, Collin Richter; Jordan and Autumn Gosdeck; Cora and Baron Van Rossum; Kayla Klug, Katelyn, Kendra and Keira Richter; Kaleb, Kaiden, Kameron and Kashton Schumann; 2 brothers, Robert (Linda) Stevens, Richard (Judy) Stevens; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carleton Richter on December 24, 2017; parents, DuWayne and Irmgard Stevens, Alfred Michowski; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert and Cora Richter.
A visitation for the family and friends of Jean Richter will be held on Sunday, June 2, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. The funeral service for Jean Richter will be held on Monday, June 3, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with a one hour visitation prior to the service at Calvary Lutheran Church, 202 South Farmer St., in Princeton. Pastor Robert Busse will officiate. Jean will be laid to rest following the service at the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
