Anita L. Roehl, age 55, of Princeton, WI, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, December 10, 2021, after a courageous battle with leukemia at Freodtert Hospital in Milwaukee. She was born on April 9, 1966, in Ripon, WI, a daughter of Bernard and Shirley (Mann) Bornick.
Anita was a devout Christian and a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Princeton, where she was a member of the Gleaners and the altar committee. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Grade School and was a 1984 graduate of Princeton High School.
Anita married Steven Roehl on June 9, 1990, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. They were blessed with two children, Marissa and Evan. She spent most of her working years as an inspector at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon.
Anita enjoyed visiting wineries and trying out new restaurants, attending festivals and watching movies. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Those Anita leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 31 years, Steven Roehl of Princeton; her two children, Marissa (Zachary) Borzick of Galesville, WI, Evan Roehl of Princeton; her father and stepmother, Bernie (Cindy) Bornick of Princeton; 3 siblings, Teresa (Curt) Manthei of Princeton, Mark (Terri) Bornick of Princeton, Shiela (Manny) Diaz of Longwood, FL; mother-in-law, Bertha Roehl of Ripon; sister-in-law, Brenda Roehl of Omro; 3 stepsisters, Deborah (Joel) Alaimo of Germany, Lisa (Kyle) Barry of Springfield, IL, Pamela (Matt) Dupuis of Waunakee, WI; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Bornick.
A visitation for family and friends of Anita L. Roehl will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, December 17, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18, at 11:00 A.M., with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Anita will be laid to rest following the service in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
