Arnold “Arnie“ Renn, age 93, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at the Markesan Resident Home in Markesan. He was born on March 15, 1927, in Princeton, WI, the son of Fred and Minnie (Fenske) Renn.
Arnie proudly served his country in the United States Army from June 19, 1945 to February 1, 1947. On November 12, 1949, he married Marjorie Lamonska at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater.
For over 60 years, Arnie worked in the plumbing business. He was a Master Plumber and for many years owned and operated Renn and Son Plumbing. He was a longtime member of the Princeton Fire Department and was the Assistant Chief for many years. He was also a member of the Princeton American Legion Post 366. Arnie had enjoyed hunting, fishing and in earlier years, sturgeon spearing.
Those Arnie leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, DuWayne (Joan) Renn of Princeton; 5 grandchildren, Sherry (Ted) Naparala of Princeton, Paul (JoAnn) Soda of North Charleston, SC, James (Brittany) Soda of Neshkoro, Rebecca Renn of Princeton, Abigail (Bryce) Pischke of Rapid City, SD; 9 great grandchildren, Teddy, Tyler, Amber and Trevor Naparala; Sean, Callista and Sydney Soda; Josephine and Elizabeth Soda; son-in-law, Dennis Soda of Neshkoro; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Minnie Renn; wife, Marjorie Renn; daughter, Debra Soda; sister, “Bert.”
A funeral service for Arnold Renn will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John‘s Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Arnie will be laid to rest in the Fairwater Cemetery in Fairwater with full military honors.
