Bernadine Sosinsky Obituary

Bernadine Sosinsky, age 89, of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2020, at the Markesan Resident Home. She was born to Wallace and Sophia (Kozlowski) Rozek on June 4, 1931, in Princeton, WI. Bernadine attended Princeton High School, graduating in 1949.

 

On May 20, 1950, she married William (Slug) Sosinsky at St. John Catholic Church in Princeton. Together, they owned and operated The Little Market Restaurant in Princeton for 28 years. After they sold the restaurant, Bernadine was a loyal employee of Bentley Pharmacy in Princeton for over 30 years. Bernadine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Rosary Society, and the American Legion Auxiliary of Princeton. She was devoted to her family. You could often find her on the sidelines of sporting events, cheering on her children, grandchildren and even her great grandchildren. Bernadine also loved supporting the Green Bay Packers. She was an avid bingo player and was always ready for a trip to the casino with family or friends. Bernadine was well known for the delicious food she made, some family favorites included her potato salad, molasses cookies, and blueberry pies. On Sunday mornings after church, many family members would gather at her house. She always had plenty of treats to share with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bernadine was very devoted to her church as well. She volunteered for many activities over the years and prayed the rosary every day.

 

Those Bernadine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her children, Joanne (Jon) Strassburger, Thomas (Sue) Sosinsky, Judy (Lonnie) Gorsuch, Carol (Roger Swanke) Murphy, Tim (Brenda) Sosinsky, Bill (Kelly) Sosinsky, Cathy (Tom) Washkovick, Mike (Julie) Sosinsky; 15 Grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Bartol, Robyn (Todd) Morris, Chris (Lisa) Murphy, Brad Sosinsky, Erin (Adam) Bednarek, Krista (Steve Abitz) Sosinsky, Amanda (Rob) Zimmerman, Stacy (Brad) Walther, Brooke Sosinsky, Brittany Sosinsky, Justin Sosinsky, Brandon (Erica Nelson) Sosinsky, Alex (Louisa Cotae) Washkovick, Matt Sosinsky, Abbey Washkovick; 23 great grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Franklin Rozek; sisters, Janet (Jerome) Zodrow, Diane (Bob) Kapfhammer, Annette Danforth; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Sophia Rozek; her father and mother-in-law, Tom and Kate Sosinsky; her husband, Bill Sosinsky; brother-in-law, Daniel Danforth; sister-in-law, Bonnie Rozek; and son-in-law, Mike Murphy.

 

A public visitation for Bernadine Sosinsky will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton on Thursday, July 16, 2020, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, and on Friday, July 17, from 9:00 - 11:00 am. At the conclusion of the public visitation, there will be a private family Mass of Christian Burial for Bernadine with Father Dale Grubba officiating. Bernadine will be laid to rest in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.

 

The family of Bernadine would like to thank the Markesan Resident Home, especially Erica Nelson and Shae Moderow, for the wonderful care they provided.  Also, thank you to Father Grubba for his prayers and final visit to Bernadine. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
