Bonnie Brewer, age 79, of Ripon, was received into the waiting arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 4, 2025, at SSM Health Ripon Community Hospital. She was born on March 21, 1946, in Ripon, WI, a daughter of Colin Jr. and Desiré (Hardell) Simpson.
After graduating from high school, Bonnie went on to further her education and earned a bachelor degree in social work from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA. On July 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Gary Brewer.
Bonnie was strong in her faith and a fervent servant of the Lord. She was a former Sunday School teacher and for many years, a preschool teacher with the Head Start Program in Montello. She believed that every child deserved to be loved. Bonnie was passionate about her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandsons. She was an avid reader, loved to laugh, and was happy when she could brighten up someone’s day. She also loved the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin, entertaining, and family get togethers.
Those Bonnie leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Adam (Marie) Brewer of Swisher, IA; 3 grandsons, Michael, Nolan, and Solomon; sister, Debra A. Martin of Montello; brother, Colin (Deb) Simpson III of Livingston, TX; 2 nieces, Anne, Jennifer and their families; cousins, Julie Riley and her daughter, Camille of Anchorage, AK; Seth (Rebecca) Hardell and family of Montello; Kiley (Douglas) Lloyd and family of Montello; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Matthew Brewer; her parents; former husband, Gary Brewer; cousin, Randy Hardell.
A visitation for Bonnie Brewer will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard Street, in Princeton. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church, 500 Mayparty Dr., in Ripon. Rev. Bryan Fritsch will officiate the service. The service will be live streamed on the Messiah Lutheran Church of Ripon Facebook page. Bonnie will be laid to rest in the Black Creek Cemetery of Neshkoro.
