Claris Hanson, age 90, of Princeton, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. She was born on February 21, 1932, a daughter of Theodore and Norma (Radtke) Rozek.
Claris was a graduate of Princeton High School. On July 4, 1951, she married Darwin M. Hanson at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. For many years, she worked as a knitting machine operator for the Handcraft Co. Claris was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Princeton and its Ladies Aid and enjoyed taking part in the many activities at the Princeton Senior Center. She enjoyed Bingo nights, setting jigsaw puzzles and watching the birds at the bird feeder.
Those Claris leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, JoAnne (Doug) Lichtenberg of Princeton, Donald (special friend, Mary Gummo) Hanson of Princeton; her sister, Donna Nowacki of Milton, WI; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Grace Polfuss and Elaine Kallas; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Darwin Hanson; her brother, Donald Rozek; daughter-in-law, Lisa Hanson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A memorial service for Claris Hanson will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Claris will be laid to rest following the service in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
