Cori Goudreau Obituary

Dear Family and Friends,

I have a devastating tragedy to share. My daughter, Cori, is no longer walking the earth with us. She took her own life at age 51. She forgot how precious she is. Yet, her amazing spirit will always shine brightly.

Instead of the details of her death, please remember the details of her amazing spirit.

Like each of us she had her quirks and flaws and was frustrated at times that the world isn't a better place.

Please remember Cori as I knew her to be: Joyful, funny, fun loving, strong, resilient, creative, generous and passionate. She was compassionate, an advocate for the marginalized and a doer of random acts of kindness.

Cori was a friendly, loving, helpful, appreciative person; considerate of others, people and animals too, their feelings and point of view. She loved animals, dogs and cats were her buddies; she was also very fond of frogs, especially those tiny tree frogs.

Cori loved nature, which meant being outdoors, enjoying fishing and 4-wheeling; she was adept at river kayaking, (even with a beer and cig.). Cori enjoyed gardening, she had an asparagus patch, her dachshund, Roo, loved to eat them.

Cori loved to read mysteries, especially Stephen King novels. The book she delighted in and reread many times was The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. A cherished book from Cori’s very young days is A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog written by Mercer Mayer. Cori was reunited with her longtime childhood friend, Amy D., last summer. During that visit Amy painted a scene from that book on a rock as a keepsake for Cori, which she loved dearly.

She could be deep at times, yet whimsical at others. She was a homemaker and a good cook. Cori was animated with sparkling eyes and a glowing spirit.

Cori's last act wasn't one of death it was one of life, in keeping with her generous spirit she was an organ donor. The University of Wisconsin at Madison Organ Donation Team told me that Cori is a hero.

In lieu of flowers, and if you feel drawn to, please make a donation in memory of Cori to:https://brandygillmorefoundation.org/ Let us all use our power to make the world a better place. Let us remember Cori by putting loving kindness in our hearts and on the tip of our tongues.

Wishing everyone vibrant health, vitality and well-being in all your endeavors.

Peace, Love, Light & Joy,

Elaine
