Dennis Novak Obituary

Dennis David Novak, age 82, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on October 31, 1943, in Princeton, WI, a son of Frank and Marie (Malinowski) Novak. Born and raised in Princeton, he maintained a lifelong connection to the community he called home.

Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1968. His service reflected his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment. On July 30, 1966, after returning home from Vietnam, Dennis married Ruth Siekierka at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. They shared 58 years of marriage before Ruth’s passing on March 25, 2025.

Dennis spent more than 40 years as a barber, including owning and operating Novak’s Barber Shop in Monona, WI, where he built lasting relationships and became a trusted presence in the community. After retiring, he returned to Princeton, where he enjoyed being back in the town that shaped him. He had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, spending countless hours outdoors and finding peace in Wisconsin’s woods and waters. These pursuits were more than hobbies. They were a way of life that brought him joy and meaningful time with family and friends.

He is survived by his two sons, Steven (Christle) Novak and Darin (Natasha) Novak; his cherished grandchildren, Hadley, Harrison, Morgan, Maquel, and Mariah; his great-grandchildren, Braden and Sienna. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Ann (Siekierka) Novak; his parents, Frank and Marie Novak; brother, Gerald Novak; sisters, Kathleen Kummer and Diane Kreuger.

Dennis will be remembered for his devotion to family, his loyal service to his country, his strong work ethic, and his love of the outdoors. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
