Dolores Marie Manthey

Dolores M. Manthey, age 91, of Franklin, WI, formerly of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Clifden Court in Franklin, WI. She was born on March 11, 1931, in Berlin, WI, a daughter of Edward and Martha (Brown) Swanke.

Dolores married Alvin G. Manthey on June 4, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. They were just shy of celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary at the time of Alvin’s passing on April 24, 2010. The many hobbies Dolores enjoyed over the years were baking pies and cookies, canning fruits and vegetables, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed flowers and most of all her grandchildren.

Dolores is survived by her son, Kenneth (Barbara) Manthey of Franklin, WI; 2 grandsons, Michael and Matthew Manthey of Franklin, WI; brother, Floyd (JoAnn) Swanke; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Martha Swanke; husband, Alvin G. Manthey; 3 sisters, Beateice (Joseph) Beck, Lila (Gordon) Schwandt, Joyce (Phillip) Monahan; 4 brothers, Reuben (Regina) Swanke, Vernon (Mary Jane) Swanke, Foster (Jean) Swanke, Palmer (Evelyn) Swanke.

A funeral service for Dolores M. Manthey will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Dolores will be laid to rest in the City Cemetery in Princeton following the service.
