Donald J. Schulz, age 91, of Green Lake, formerly of East Troy, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Prairie Place in Ripon. He was born in Fond du Lac on June 12, 1927, a son of the late Ervin H. and Irene (Cahill) Schulz.
Don married Alice Melrose on June 11, 1949. For more than 50 years, Don worked for and eventually became a partner in Screws, Inc. in New Berlin, WI. While living in East Troy, Don was a member of the Land O'Lakes Baseball Team, the East Troy Lions Club, East Troy Softball Association and served on the East Troy School Board. After moving to Green Lake, he was a member of the Green Lake Ice Yacht Club. Don was also a lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.
Don leaves behind three children, Nancy (Larry) Dolphin of Austin, MN, Katherine (John Lien) Schulz of Bruce, WI, Michael (Joanne) Schulz of Plymouth, WI; four grandchildren, Amber (Steve Moechnig) Dolphin, Benjamin (Sarah) Dolphin; Colleen Schulz, Brenden (Courtney) Schulz; four great grandchildren, Maya Moechnig; Payton, Lincoln and Asher Dolphin; further survived by daughter-in-law, Camille Houle of Racine,WI; three step grandchildren, Megan Houle, Laura (Frank) Griffiths, Andrew (Amy) Houle; two step great grandchildren, Derek and Kennedy Griffiths; two brothers, Ervin Schulz of Poway, CA and Leonard Schulz of Big Bend, WI; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughter, Ruth Ann Schulz; one sister, Ruth Mary; two brothers, Ralph and Harvey Schulz and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald J. Schulz will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Don will be laid to rest following the service in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
