Donald Albert Wedde, age 77, of Neshkoro, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on July 22, 1945, in Adams County on the family farm, a son of Albert and Acelia (Taylor) Wedde.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Army from September 28, 1965 to September 27, 1968. On June 14, 1972, he married Bonnie Swanke in Milwaukee. He was self-employed, owning and operating Precision Blacktop for over 30 years. Don also worked for Heartland Farms for over 25 years, hauling potatoes.
The many hobbies Don loved were hunting, cutting wood, riding his ATV, shooting pool and participating in Ford truck pulls with his son. Don also loved horses, country music, hanging out with the gang, helping his brother-in-law, Richie at the farm and helping others when he was able.
Those Don leaves behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Bonnie Wedde of Neshkoro; his two children that he loved dearly, Donald “Jr.” Wedde of Neshkoro; Tammy (Gordy) Rickard of Neshkoro; 4 siblings, Carol Johnston, Wilma Castle, Robert (Patti) Wedde, Violet Wedde; special friend, Paul George; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Acelia Wedde; sisters, Dorothy and Patricia; nephew, Bobby Wedde.
A funeral service for Donald Albert Wedde will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Donald will be laid to rest, with full military honors, following the funeral service in the Black Creek Cemetery of rural Neshkoro.
