Earle Arthur Jacob Sr.

Earle Arthur Jacob Sr., 79, met his Lord and Savior Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI.

Earle was born in South Milwaukee, WI to Lydia and Elmer Jacob. He grew up working on the farm and enjoyed playing football at Oak Creek High School where he met his wife, Ruth. They graduated together in 1962 and were married July 18, 1964. After high school, he trained to become a barber and got his first job at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. He then went on to barber at the Milwaukee YMCA where he worked for over 25 years. In 1993 Earle retired due to injuries from a hunting accident. He then found a new calling teaching prison ministry at the Racine Correctional Institute for several years.

Earle was an avid collector of antique toys and gas engines and was active in forming the Early Days Gas Engine Tractor Club in Oak Creek, WI. Earle loved to tinker on projects large and small and had many going at once. He enjoyed going up north for the weekend to go hunting or fishing with family and friends. Earle also loved a good rummage or thrift store and was an excellent haggler.

Earle was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lydia (née Siegel) Jacob; his sister, Janet Philip; brother, Lorin Jacob and sister, Karen Sprotte.

Earle is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth (née Joncas) Jacob; daughter, Tammie (Don) Logan; sons, Earle Jr. and Jarret Jacob; granddaughters, Justina and Jessika Jacob and his fur children, Jack and Jill. He is further survived by many other beloved nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as many friends and extended family.

A memorial service for Earle A. Jacob Sr. will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, W5940 Chestnut St., Packwaukee, WI 53953. Pastor Larry Sheppard will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
