Edwin Hendrickson Obituary

 

Edwin Rainhold Hendrickson, age 83, of Princeton, WI, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah, WI.
He was born on March 24, 1936, in Chicago, IL, a son of Paul and Dagmar (Larson) Henrikson.  He married Marilyn Eleanor Peterson on September 25, 1952, in Valparaiso, Indiana.  They were married nearly 50 years until Marilyn’s passing in 2002.  Ed lived in Chicago, Westmont, Downers Grove and Naperville, IL, before enjoying retirement in Princeton, WI.

Edwin found love again and married Margaret (Meg) Call on May 26, 2018.  Ed treasured the time they had together.

Ed retired from General Motor, Electromotive Division in McCook, IL, where he worked as an electrician.   He enjoyed fishing, hunting, volunteering at his local food bank and church, and spending time with his family and friends.  He was a devoted husband, adoring father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He recently said, “I have flower seeds planted all over the country, they are growing well everywhere.  My blessings are my grandkids and great grandkids, those are my flowers.”

He is survived by his wife, Meg Hendrickson; daughter, Barb (Bob) Amrein; sons, Bill (Dawn) Hendrickson, Ed Hendrickson; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; brother, Eric (Donna) Henrikson; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his late wife, Marilyn; his parents, Paul and Dagmar Henrikson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Eleanor Peterson; siblings, Carl, Dave, Nels, Ingrid and Ruth. 

A visitation for family and friends of Edwin Hendrickson will be held on Wednesday, May 22, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, 202 S. Farmer St., in Princeton.  Pastor Robert Busse will officiate.  Ed will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Marilyn, in the Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien, IL, on Friday May 24, with graveside services at 11:00 a.m.
