Edwin "Ed" Stelter

Edwin “Ed” Stelter, age 81, of Montello, WI, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. He was born on June 14, 1941, in Fond du Lac, WI, a son of Albert and Della (Bornick) Stelter.

Edwin graduated from Montello High School in 1960. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965, serving his last year in Germany. After returning home from the service, Edwin worked at Montello Products from 1966 to 1978 and then he farmed on the family farm until he retired.

Ed loved spending his summers trap shooting. In the early years, he shot in the Central WI Trap Shooting Sunday League, where he was the president of the club for several years. He later shot at the Berlin Conservation Club Thursday Night League. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, duck hunting on the west end of Puckaway, deer hunting on the farm and watching the Badgers, Packers and Brewers on TV. The last eight years he enjoyed going to the Montello Seniors Center to play cards, have lunches and to socialize with other seniors. He also enjoyed his Monday mornings going to different restaurants with his breakfast club buddies.

Those Edwin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his 2 brothers, Harold (Marion) Stelter of Princeton, Norman (Jeanette) Stelter of Montello; brother-in-law, Bob (Toni) Pribnow of Berlin; his nieces and nephews, Shelly, John, Michael, Nicholas, Nicole and Eric; 2 great nieces, Amara and Kerrigan, many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Della Stelter; sister, Edna Pribnow.

A Celebration of Life for Edwin “Ed” Stelter will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton.
