Elaine Kallas Obituary

Elaine Ellen Kallas, 94, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025. She was the daughter of John and Magdaline (Cybart) Mlodzik. Elaine was born in Princeton on the family farm and passed away at her home on the family farm.

 

Elaine graduated from St. John the Baptist Catholic grade school and then in 1949, graduated from Princeton High School. After high school, she moved to Chicago and was employed by Montgomery Ward in the catalog department where her responsibility was typing orders. After returning home to Princeton, she married Roger Kallas on April 23, 1955, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was employed by the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) in Princeton. She was a valued employee for 30 years, receiving many awards for her service. Upon retirement, she did “home work” for the Handcraft Company, decorating socks for the next 12 years.

 

Elaine was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Princeton and for many years sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Rosary Society and the Lady Foresters. Her favorite pastime was fishing with her husband Roger. They fished many of the lakes in Green Lake County.

 

Those Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memory are her 2 children, Mark (Shelly) Kallas and Kristine Kallas; 3 grandchildren, Mollie Kallas, Marie (Chris) Downs, Travis Schueler; 4 great grandchildren, Maci and McKaylee Kallas; Rory Downs; Hunter Schueler; brother-in-law, Mike (Ginger) Kallas; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Grace Polfuss, Rosie Polcyn, Kay Rothe, Shirley Grams; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Magdaline Mlodzik; her husband of 62 years, Roger Kallas; grandson, Mitchell Kallas; 4 sisters and 5 brothers.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine Ellen Kallas will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Elaine will be laid to rest following the Mass in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
