Elaine P. Washkovick, of Princeton, passed away at Kindred Hearts in Green Lake on Sunday, February 4th, 2018. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 29, 1928, in the Town of Marcellon near Pardeeville, WI, on her grandparents farm where she spent many summers with her cousins.
Elaine graduated from Montello High School and was then employed at Speed Queen until her marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Washkovick. They were married on August 16th, 1952, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. Together they owned Washkovick Oil Company and raised their four children. She treasured her family and was a devoted mother and doting grandmother. She was a past member of the Princeton Women's Club and TOPS-KOPS. After retiring, Elaine and Jerry spent 18 winters in Fort Myers, FL, where she enjoyed the clubhouse activities and long walks. She loved spending time with her family, shopping, traveling, nature and especially feeding and watching the birds. Her favorite trip was to Hawaii with her neighbor, Gertie Nowacki, which Elaine won in a contest.
She will be deeply missed by her children; Jane (Lewis) Weinberger of Port Orange, FL, Jim (Chris) Washkovick of Princeton, Tom (Cathy) Washkovick of Appleton, Cheryl (Jim) Abitz of Palmer, AK; her grandchildren; Alex Washkovick of Cologne, Germany, Ellen Washkovick of Roseville, MN, Abbey Washkovick of Appleton, Eric Washkovick of Princeton; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jerry; two sisters, Arlene Miller and Marjorie Fleinek.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Elaine P. Washkovick will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Following the Mass, Elaine will be laid to rest in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
