Eleanor K. Disterhaft, age 92, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Markesan Resident Home. She was born on April 23, 1930, in Berlin, WI, the daughter of John and Clara (Bogutske) Hopp.
On June 23, 1948, Eleanor married Anton “Tony” Disterhaft at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. For many years, Eleanor and Tony worked together running their dairy farm and tending to their flowers and large vegetable garden. They shared 61 years of marriage at the time of Tony’s passing on February 13, 2010.
Eleanor loved watching birds. She also loved that her grandson, Cody, who was an avid bowler, shared his love for the sport with her. Together they would watch bowling, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brewers on TV. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and was very fond of her canine companion, Spots. When Eleanor was younger, she enjoyed riding horses. She also enjoyed being outdoors alongside her husband, Tony, hunting, fishing and working on their farm.
Those Eleanor leaves behind to cherish her memory are her 2 sons, Jerry Disterhaft of Princeton, Ken (Mary) Disterhaft of Princeton; 2 grandsons, Cody (Cass) Disterhaft, Ryan Disterhaft; granddaughter, Terra; special friends, Lisa and Riley Ellis, Peggy Murray, Naomi (Dalton) Johnston and their daughter, Mya; her faithful canine companion, Spots. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Hopp; husband, Tony Disterhaft; grandson, Nathan Disterhaft.
A private Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanor K. Disterhaft will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Eleanor will be laid to rest following the Mass in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
