Elmer L. Hanson, age 98, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Ripon Medical Center. He was born in Marinette, WI, on October 25, 1919, a son of John and Ruth (Jossart) Hanson. Elmer served his country in the US Army during WWII. On March 9, 1946, he married Jean Sweningson at Harmony Methodist Church in Grover, WI. Elmer worked as an accountant for Marcheses Brothers Excavating and for Milwaukee Mile Race Track. He was proud of his military service and was a dedicated member of the Princeton VFW Post 10452. Elmer was an avid golfer and was one of the oldest members of the White Lake Country Club in Montello. He will be missed by his number one golfing pal, Harvey Rudolph and his VFW Post friend, Bud Wilcox. Elmer loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elmer is survived by his son, Larry Hanson of Princeton; daughter, Sandy Blankshien of Peshtigo; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; special friend, Bud Wilcox; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Hanson; his wife, Jean Hanson; 4 brothers.
