Elmer Reetz, age 90, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. He was born on December 12, 1933, on the Princeton family farm, the son of Elmer and Lorraine (Wegner) Reetz, Sr.
Elmer was a graduate of Princeton High School. On December 25, 1954, he married Arlene Arndt at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. Elmer was a proud third generation lifelong farmer in Princeton. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton where he served on the church council and AAL. In his earlier years, he looked forward to Tuesday Night Bowling for AAL and Sunday Night Couples League. He loved watching birds from his chair, tractor pulling and boxing. Elmer took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren carry on the family farming tradition.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Randy Reetz of Princeton, Cheri (Ken) Borzick of Montello; 6 grandchildren, Jamie (Bryan) Buenzli of Fitchburg, Travis (Brittney Katerzynske) Reetz of Princeton, Alex Reetz of Princeton; Christa (Paul) VanTreeck of Montello, Ashley (James) Henke of Montello, Matthew (Amanda) Borzick of Montello; 8 great grandchildren, Crosby and Hudson Reetz; Haiden, Nolan, Annalyse VanTreeck; Brody, Rilyn, Milo Henke; special friend, Elda Anderson; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lorraine Reetz, Sr.; wife, Arlene Reetz, daughter-in-law, Nancy Reetz.
A funeral service for Elmer Reetz will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St. in Princeton. Rev. John Stelter will conduct the service. Elmer will be laid to rest in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton following the service.
