Florence A. Moore, age 84, of Princeton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, WI. She was born on December 17, 1937, in Fond du Lac, WI, a daughter of Clyde and Beatrice (Leasa) Miller.
When Florence was young, she entered the religious order and was a novitiate of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes in Fond du Lac, WI. However, after a time she decided that her call from God was to have a family. Her Christian faith was strong and guided her life. On April 11, 1959, she married Roger Moore at Presentation Catholic Church in North Fond du Lac. They were married 36 years at the time of Roger’s passing on June 16, 1995.
Florence was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton. In addition to being a wonderful mother and homemaker, she spent most of her life as a baker, working for a time at Sherm’s Piggly Wiggly in Princeton. She made the BEST cakes and did so for many family and friend’s events including birthdays, graduations and weddings. She had also taught cake decorating classes. Florence was a kind and compassionate soul who rarely spoke negative of anyone. She will be dearly missed.
Those Florence leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 4 children, Roger Moore Jr. of Chicago, IL, Anthony (Anita) Moore of Princeton, Grace Moore of Oshkosh, Annette (Gary Knuth) Carroll of Plainfield; 8 grandchildren, Dustin Mirr, Jennifer Cejka, Emily Pagel, Malinda Moore, Valerie Moore, Roger Moore III, Amber Phillips, Anthony Moore Jr.; 6 great grandchildren, Damian, Taylor; Ava, Archer; Blake; Desdoni; 2 sisters, Rosemary (Eugene) Lemke, Beatrice (Rick) Welcher; brother-in-law, Wayne Johnson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Beatrice Miller; her husband, Roger Moore Sr; son, Charles Moore; 4 brothers, Edwin, David, William, Richard; 2 sisters, Catherine (Milton) Gohr, Martha (JoJo) Johnson.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Florence A. Moore will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Florence will be laid to rest in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton following the service.
