Geraldine “Geri” (Dwelle) Peabody, 92, formerly of Princeton, passed away peacefully on January 8th, 2025, at Prairie Place Assisted Living in Ripon, Wisconsin.
Geri was born on September 29, 1932, to Rolland and Hulda (Hoefs) Dwelle in Chaseley, ND. She grew up in Jamestown, ND, where she attended High School and college. She also attended college at UND-Grand Forks, where she met Ronald Peabody. The two married in June 1954 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Geri loved her family, her gardening, cooking, and crafts. In her early days, Geri was a secretary for K.B. McKichon and Associates in Grand Forks, ND. Following Ron’s employment and business ventures, they then moved to Denver, CO, Rapids City, SD. When they moved to Wisconsin in 1968, Geri worked at Parker Pen and Rock County Mental Health in Janesville. She then dedicated the next 23 years of her career to working for the State of Wisconsin in Job Service, helping countless people find employment throughout the state, and retired in 1997.
Geraldine is survived by her three children, Mark (DiAnne) Peabody of Rockford, IL, Rolland (Gerrilynn) Peabody of Ripon, WI, Ronda (James) Krystofiak of Cedar Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law, Laurie Coggin-Peabody of Waukesha, WI; seven grandchildren, Alexis Peabody, Gwendlynn (Mark) Carroll; Amber (Brent) Josie; Ryan and Riley Peabody; Christopher and Mary Krystofiak; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Carroll and Eloise Krystofiak. She is further survived by her brother-in-law, Robert (Jeanine) Peabody of E. Grand Forks, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Hulda Dwelle; three sisters, LaVonne (Walt) Deutscher, Arlene (Howard) Sukat, Kathrine Kaye Dwelle; her husband, Ronald Peabody; son, Randy Peabody.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Geri Peabody will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. Following the Mass, Geri will be laid to rest next to Ron, in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
