Jack Nehmer, age 79, of Neshkoro, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 5, 2020. He was born on December 31, 1940, in Wauwatosa, WI, a son of John A. and Irene (Gieger) Nehmer.
Jack proudly served in the Army National Guard of Wisconsin from February 21, 1959 to November 5, 1964. On September 24, 1960, he married Virginia “Ginger” Novak in West Allis, WI, his long-time sweetheart from high school. Jack worked as a passionate community servant for the Milwaukee Police Department for 34 years and retired as a well respected detective. After his retirement, he moved to Neshkoro, Wisconsin, and worked for the Wautoma and Neshkoro Police Departments for a short period of time.
When Jack wasn’t out ensuring the safety of his community, he was pursuing his passions of fishing, golfing, and hunting. Jack was also a long time devout Catholic and invested much of his spare time volunteering at the St. James Catholic Church in Neshkoro, where he worked closely with Father Grubba and others for 20 years. Jack would never miss a mass on Saturday, nor would he miss a Packer Game on Sunday.
Jack was a dedicated father to his children and a loyal husband. Whether it was planning the next family trip, or getting together with friends, Jack always had something going on. As such an active member of his community, Jack left behind a long list of close friends, and he will be missed by all.
Those Jack leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years, Virginia Mary Nehmer of Neshkoro; 5 children, Jack (Emily) Nehmer Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, WI, Jill (Kim) Nehmer of Cedarburg, WI, Julie (Jeff Peak) Nehmer of Redgranite, WI, Jim Nehmer of Granby, CO, Joe Nehmer of Cedar Grove, WI; 4 grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Mulloy, Ryan Nehmer, Angeline Nehmer, Jessica Nehmer; 2 great grandchildren, Mia and Brooks Mulloy; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Irene Nehmer; 2 brothers, Arnold and Donald Nehmer.
