James V. Ottesen, age 59, of Princeton, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 11, 2023. He was born on December 19, 1963, in Madison, WI, a son of Harold V. and Irene (Stimac) Ottesen Jr.
Jim was a 1982 graduate of Nathan Hale High School in West Allis, WI. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for 9 years. On July 28, 2001, he married Debra Hallman. In recent years he worked as a courier for Day or Nite Express, taking his beloved dog, Romeo, with him on the job.
The many hobbies Jim enjoyed were model trains, model railroading, camping, traveling, cooking and deer hunting. He was also a car enthusiast and loved dogs.
Those James leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Ashley (Zachary) Ottesen-Cook; the love of his life, Debbie Hallman-Ottesen; his parents, Harold and Irene Ottesen Jr.; sister, Sandy (Thomas) Brown; sister-in-law, Jessica; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Randy” Ottesen.
A funeral service for James V. Ottesen will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will officiate. James will be laid to rest, with full military honors, in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI, at 2:00 p.m.
