James Walker Obituary

James Michael Walker, age 60, of Waupaca, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 14, 2020. Jim was born on January 25, 1960, at Ripon Memorial Hospital in Ripon, WI, a son of Dale and Dolores (Resheski) Walker.

He graduated from Green Lake High school in 1978. Jim worked for 2 years after high school. He then went on to further his education at the University of Wisconsin Platteville, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating in December of 1985. His first job after graduation was with the Boeing Company in the military division in Wichita, Kansas as an electronic equipment design engineer. After spending a few years there, he went to the Honeywell Company in Illinois to work as their photo electrics/electronics engineer. He came back to Fond du Lac, WI, and worked for Wells Manufacturing  Corporation in the electronics division as their project engineer. Jim then worked his way up to senior electronic engineer at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, WI. He also worked at R.E. Phelon Company in Lomira, WI, SMT Engineering Company and Miller Electronic Manufacturing Company of Appleton, WI. Most recently he worked at Andritz Group in Appleton.

Jim was skilled in design, computer, laboratory, compliance and safety standards.  As an accomplished electrical engineer, he had been awarded 11 patents.

Jim was a private person but was always the first person to come help his family and friends with any projects that needed to be done. He liked to fix things and made sure they were working correctly when done. He enjoyed coming to all the family gatherings.

Jim’s hobbies included farming, hunting, fishing and gardening. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his daughter, Justyne and her daughters. Jim will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his mother, Dolores Walker; daughter, Justyne (Tyler) Paige; 2 grandchildren, Paxtyn and Presley;  sisters, Dr. Susan (Terry Webb) Sneed, Janet (special friend, Ron Moser) Teske, Mary (Glen) Otto, Wendy (Don) Bogdanske, Jean (Don) Sonntag, Sandy (special friend, Dave) Walker; 2 brothers, Tom and Steve Walker; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dale Walker.
