Jean Golz, age 89, of the Town of Marquette, went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2023, after passing away at her home. She was born on August 14, 1934, in Granville, WI, a daughter of Emil and Florence (Buntrock) Kussmann.
On December 7, 1963, Jean married Richard Curran. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1977. She then married Norman Golz on April 8, 1978. They enjoyed 30 years together until Norman’s passing on July 28, 2008.
For many years, Jean worked as a clerk for the Town of Marquette. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Markesan and its Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Manchester Senior Citizens. Jean enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and knitting.
Jean is survived by her stepchildren, Beverly (Terrance) Zick of Markesan, Gene (D’Arcy) Golz of Markesan; 5 step-grandchildren, Chris Davis, Karen (Tim) Panten, Daniel (Jennifer) Golz, James Golz, Jeremy (Randi) Golz; 7 step-great-grandchildren, Austin Davis, Hilary Davis, Braxton Davis, Hannah Panten, Adam Panten, Remy Golz, Reagan Golz; other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Florence Kussmann; 3 brothers, Henry, Wallace, Kenneth Kussmann.
A Graveside Service for Jean Golz will be recited by Pastor Jason Jobs at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. Jean will be laid to rest following the service in the Dayton Cemetery in Princeton.
