Jerome N. Szweda

Jerome N. Szweda, age 85, of Princeton, WI, passed away at the Montello Care Center on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.  He was born on August 15, 1934, at home in Princeton, the son of Martha Swader.  Jerry married Jo Ann Soda on June 22, 1963, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton.  He worked at Speed Queen for 20 plus years and farmed for over 40 years. 

Jerry was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Princeton and the Catholic Order of Foresters.  He was known to his friends as “Zazoo.”  He loved to farm, golf, hunt and fish.  Jerry also enjoyed bowling for many years, raising gladiolus and going to tractor pulls. 

Jerome is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jo Ann Szweda of Princeton; 2 sons, John Szweda of Princeton, Robert (Anna) Szweda of Baraboo; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Birch, MacKenzie Szweda, Jasmine Szweda, Matthew Szweda; 2 great grandchildren, Adalyn Hanson, Karsyn Birch; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Swader; many aunts and uncles.

A Memorial Mass for Jerome N. Szweda will be held on Thursday, July 9, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 West Main St., in Princeton.  Father Dale Grubba will be conducting the service.  Burial will take place at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery at the conclusion of the service.     Please visit our website www.wachholzandsons.com to send a condolence or to share a memory of Jerry with his family.
