Karl C. Ostrum

Karl C. “Oz”  Ostrum, age 79, of Montello, WI, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Crossroads Care Center in Weyauwega, WI. He was born on January 6, 1943, in Hinsdale, IL, a son of Karl and Jane Ostrum.

Karl grew up in Hinsdale and graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 1961. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and proudly served his country for 4 years. On April 25, 1970, he married Lynn Twichell at the Union Church in Hinsdale. Karl worked for Molex Inc. in Lisle,  Illinois as a shipping foreman for many years. In 1998, Karl and Lynn moved to Montello to enjoy their retirement years. During his retirement years, he worked at the White Lake Golf Course in Montello as a groundskeeper.

Karl was a Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. He enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer and bowler. When his son was younger, he also enjoyed coaching his baseball team.

Those Karl leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, George “Bill” (girlfriend, Heather) Ostrum of Hayward, WI; former daughter-in-law, Jennifer (boyfriend, Eric) Ostrum of Downers Grove, IL; step daughter, Julie Unger of Hoopeston, IL; 4 grandchildren, Emma, Meredith, Caroline, Harry; great granddaughter, Paisley; 3 brothers, Bill, George and Chuck; 1 sister, Ann Weldy; 2 nieces, Myra (Steve) Herron, Caroline Ostrum; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Jane Ostrum; his wife, Lynn Ostrum.
