Kenneth E. Doman, age 91, of Princeton, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Martha’s Inc. in Princeton. He was born on July 15, 1928, in Wauwatosa, WI. Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 9, 1953, he married Shirley Berres in Brookfield, WI. They shared 59 years of marriage before Shirley’s passing on May 18, 2012. Ken was employed as a mason in Milwaukee for over 30 years before moving his family to Princeton, where he and his wife Shirley owned and operated KSL Lanes for 20 years along with Princeton Lawn Ornaments. They eventually sold the bowling alley and later sold the lawn ornament business when they retired.
In his younger days, Ken loved to play softball on numerous leagues and teams. He was a Wisconsin sports fan, faithfully cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting for fox, coyote, deer, geese and ducks. Ken also enjoyed bowling and dartball. He loved taking trips to northern Wisconsin with his family and watching and supporting his grandchildren in activities they were involved in. Ken was a member of the Princeton American Legion Post 366.
Those Ken leaves behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Leann (Troy) Holland of Princeton; 2 grandchildren, Kendra Holland of Stevens Point, Taran Holland of Stevens Point; sister-in-law, Vicki Berres of Marinette; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Doman; 2 brothers-in-law, Marvin and his wife, Barb Berres, Charles Berres; sister-in-law, Marion and her husband, Clem Roesch.
A Celebration of Life for Kenneth E. Doman will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with full military honors being held at 5:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton.
