Kenyon Krueger Obituary

Kenyon Krueger, age 88, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Martha’s in Princeton.  He was born on December 24, 1929, in Coloma, Wisconsin, a son of August and Lena (Smith) Krueger.  He married Virginia Bosman on June 30, 1951, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Parsonage in Princeton, Wisconsin.

In 1951, Kenyon was called to serve his country and spent a little over a year in Korea as a medic with the U.S. Army.  After being honorably discharged, he returned to Princeton where he and Virginia made their home. Kenyon owned and operated Kenny’s Standard Service (now the Princeton police station) and Kenyon's Klothes.  He also worked many years with the U.S. Postal Service starting as a substitute carrier, then taking over Rural Route 2.  He retired from the post office in 1991.

As an active member of his community, schools, government, and church, he brought his love of life and people to all he did.  As an avid sports fan, he never missed watching his children or grandchildren play, or cheering on his favorite Wisconsin sports teams!  Kenyon was actively involved in several clubs, including the Lions, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and VFW. He truly embodied what it means to give to your community and was a great example to many. He made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Kenyon finally received his dearest wish to join the love of his life, Virginia, who preceded him in death on May 9, 2017.   Kenyon is survived by his sons, Jim (Sue) Krueger of Princeton, Wisconsin and Joe (Jessika) Krueger of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Tim (Tania Galindez) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mimi (Michael) Pontarelli of Centerville, Ohio, Amy (Matt) Firkus of Campbellsport, Wisconsin, Kayla Villamor of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Steven (Bri) Villamor of Salt Lake City, Utah; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Mikey Pontarelli; 2 sisters-in-law, Alice Krueger, Judy Goddard; brother-in-law, Joe (Janice) Bosman.  He is further survived by many relatives and wonderful friends who showed him love throughout his whole life.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Elmer, Elgin, Gilbert, and Arline.

The family would like to give a special thanks to John Meinke, Paul Schlaefer, and Jim Seaman for your time spent with dad; you were his extended family.  We would also like to express our thanks to everyone at the Beehive Home of Mesquite, Nevada, Martha’s of Princeton, and Generations Hospice for the care and love given to him; you are special angels.

A Memorial Mass for Kenyon Krueger will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 West Main St., in Princeton.
