Kevin Ponto, age 55, of Berlin, WI, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on April 4, 1966, in Ripon, WI, the son of Gustav and Valois (Daye) Ponto.
Kevin was a 1984 graduate of Westfield High School. On September 3, 1993, he married Crystal Calbaum in Neshkoro, WI. Kevin was employed as a truck driver. Throughout the years, he drove for the F.S. Co-op, Dairyland LP, and most recently for the former DK Trucking Company out of Berlin.
In his younger years, Kevin was a drummer, playing in various bands around the area. He enjoyed camping, NASCAR, and going to car shows. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Kevin was also an animal lover.
Those Kevin leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 27 years, Crystal Ponto of Berlin; 4 children, Alex (Justin) Bowey of Neshkoro, Kaitlyn Ponto of Wautoma, Alyssa (special friend, Brandon) Ponto of Oshkosh, MacKenna (special friend, Tristan) Ponto of Berlin; 2 grandchildren, Riley and Sawyer Bowey; his parents, Gustav and Valois Ponto of Neshkoro; 3 sisters, Pamela Ponto of Berlin, Cheryl (Brent) Clauson of Coloma, Paula (Brian) Lutzen of Sussex; mother-in-law, Janice Calbaum of Princeton; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Matt) Griffith of Neshkoro; brothers-in-law, Cory Calbaum of Princeton, Chad (fianceé, Sidney) Calbaum of Aurora, CO; his 2 dogs, Rascal and Charlie and his 4 grandpups; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; several aunts and uncles; father-in-law, Vern Calbaum.
A funeral service for Kevin Ponto will be held on Monday, June 7, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton.
