Leland “Lee” Schueler, age 90, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Martha’s Inc. in Princeton. He was born on September 17, 1931, in Marquette, WI, a son of Albert and Dorothy (Mildebrandt) Schueler.
For many years, Lee worked for Speed Queen in Ripon on the transmission line. On November 1, 1958, he married Verona Irene Stibb at Trinity Lutheran Church in the township of Mecan. They were just days shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at the time of Verona’s passing on October 19, 2008.
Leland was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Princeton. He was also a member of St. John’s Men’s Club and for many years was involved with the Men’s Club recycling program. For 35 years, he was the custodian at St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Lutheran School. He was also the cemetery sexton and grave digger for the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton for many years. Lee enjoyed helping his son Darrell with his snowplow business.
Those Leland leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, Darrell (Linda Meier) Schueler of Princeton, 2 daughters, Judy (Paul) Malsack of Montello, Audrey Nessinger of Tucson, AZ; 8 grandchildren, Rick (Molly) Street of Tucson, AZ, Teresa (Juan) Bacalski of Tucson, AZ, Tony (Kim) Street of West Virginia; Vicki Malsack of Waukesha, Greg (Rebecca) Malsack of Portage, Jason (Bridget) Malsack of Tucson, AZ; Sonya (Nick) Boswell of West Allis, Jennifer Schueler of Oshkosh; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Ardis Sabel of Ripon; brother, Merlin (Carol) Schueler of Waupun; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy Schueler; his wife, Verona Schueler; 2 brothers, Wilbert and Edward Schueler; sister, Elaine Seelinger.
Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. The funeral service for Leland “Lee” Schueler will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. Leland will be laid to rest following the service in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
