Lois Elaine (Siggelkow) Zuehls, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior, passing away peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Preston Place in Redgranite, WI. She was born in Milwaukee on January 23, 1940, to Walter and Irene (Lutzen) Siggelkow.
Lois was a graduate of Rufus King High School. She loved summer weekends up at their cottage on the Fox River in Princeton, WI, and that is where Lois met the love of her life, Jerry Zuehls. They fell in love and were married on April 4th, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton, where they lived and raised their family.
Lois will be remembered for many talents and reasons. She was an amazing cook and had many special recipes that were published in the church and community cookbooks. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her father in her youth and later cards, crocheting, bowling, snowmobiling, golfing, boating and travel. While Lois always enjoyed many crafts, painting glassware was a great joy for her! From hunting down the glassware to paint and sell at the flea market, to creating masterpieces as gifts for family and friends.
Together, Lois and Jerry loved adventure! They flew, they cruised and they drove. One day Jerry came home and told Lois they were now going to be campers. They started camping with a pick-up truck and continued to upgrade. They later shared that their favorite vacation was joining a caravan of campers, traveling across the USA and down the California Baja into Mexico.
They loved warm and sunny days and soon found themselves “wintering” in Florida. Lois loved to host family and friends. Visits were encouraged and enjoyed in their beautiful Beverly Hills, Florida, home on the golf course. There were many good times, colorful stories and cherished memories made in and around the pool and hot tub.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie (Bob) Lang of Three Lakes, WI; son, Glenn Zuehls of Princeton; grandchildren, Ryan (Laura) Lang and Aaron (Jenna) Lang; beloved great-grandchildren, Maeve, Lucy, Owen and Marlee Lang; sister, Joyce Prachel; sister-in-law, Joanne Nettie (MD) and dear friend, Gerri Prachel.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Zuehls; beloved son, Gary Zuehls; parents, Walter and Irene Siggelkow; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Iona Zuehls; brothers-in-law, Norm Prachel and Jack Nettie, dear friends, Rev. Robert and Sharon Pless.
The family and friends of Lois extend their deepest gratitude to Preston Place Assisted Living Memory Care staff; especially Annette, for their loving and compassionate care for mom! Also, a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their attentive and kind care.
A service in honor and celebration of Lois’s life will take place on Saturday, September 26, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton. Rev. Philip Schupmann will preside. Burial will follow the service in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
