Lovella E. Schultz, age 88, of Oshkosh, formerly of Berlin, WI, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Lakeshore Manor in Oshkosh. She was born on October 3, 1936, in the township of Trenton in Washington County, WI, the daughter of Erwin and Minnie (Utech) Schmidt. On October 18, 1936, Lovella was baptized into the Christian faith at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Newberg, WI.
After graduating from high school, Lovella received her nursing degree from the Milwaukee Institute of Technology. Throughout her career, she worked as a licensed practical nurse at various nursing homes, and retired from Juliette Manor in Berlin. On April 20, 1965, she married Rev. Ronald Schultz in Minneapolis, MN. They shared 56 years of marriage before Ronald’s passing in June of 2021.
Lovella had many interests. She enjoyed participating in church events, helping out at the thrift store in Berlin, cooking and baking, and most of all spending time with her family.
Those Lovella leaves behind to cherish her memory are her 5 children, Rev. Andrew (Vicki) Schultz of Barre Mills, WI, Maria (Troy) Urban of Oshkosh, WI, Sarah Thorpe of Oshkosh, WI, Anna (Michael) Madigan of Montello, WI, Elizabeth (Rev. Christian) Christenson of Cornell, WI; 22 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, JoAnne Schmidt, Arlo Schultz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Minnie Schmidt; husband, Rev. Ronald Schultz; grandson, Obadiah Christenson; 4 siblings, Orville (Geraldine) Schmidt, Audrey (John) Schlelein, Palmer Schmidt, Amy (Herman) Kuether.
A funeral service for Lovella E. Schultz will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, W4704 Tenth Road, Westfield, WI 53964. Rev. Wayne Schwanke will officiate. Burial will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Budsin.
