Marjorie Swanson, age 97, of Princeton, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Ripon Community Hospital. She was born on September 3, 1924, in Plainfield, WI, a daughter of Roy and Daisy (Scantlin) Huber.
After graduating from Princeton High School in 1942, Marge married George Knollenberg. George passed away in 1954. On December 26, 1957, Marge married Harold “Whitey” Swanson at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Princeton. They lived on the Green Lake Terrace until 1966 when they moved to Downers Grove, IL. They returned to Princeton after Whitey retired. Marge and Whitey were married 50 years at the time of his passing on December 30, 2007.
Marge was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Princeton and was also a member of the Princeton Women’s Club.
Those Marge leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 2 step daughters, Karen (Richard) Brzozowski and Lynn (Ken Werner) Swanson; 10 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Orchid Ra) Swanson, Brian (Scott O’Berski) Swanson, Jeanene (Kevin Horan) Swanson, Ryan (Tara) Brzozowski, Ben (Meghan) Brzozowski, Brad Brzozowski, Darren (Jackie) Brzozowski, Keith (Kitty) Brzozowski, Andrew Swanson, Michael Swanson; 3 step grandchildren, Sarah Emmrich, Aaron Emmrich, Beth Emmrich; 5 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Isabel Bratley, Marny (David) Belfeuil; daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Swanson; former daughter-in-law, Suzanne Swanson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Daisy Huber; husbands, George Knollenberg and Harold “Whitey” Swanson; son, Harold Roy Swanson; stepson, Roger Swanson; 2 brothers, Richard (Doris) Huber, Greg Huber.
A funeral service for Marjorie Swanson will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 102 W. Harvard St., in Princeton. Pastor Kyochul Shin will officiate. Marjorie will be laid to rest following the service in the Princeton City Cemetery. A memorial has been established to the Green Lake Area Animal Shelter, N6217 Busse Rd. Green Lake, WI 54941.
