Marv Otto, age 95, of Princeton, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Patriot Place in Berlin. He was born on August 27, 1930, in the township of Marquette, a son of Gustav and Ella (Henke) Otto.
Marv was a veteran, serving in the United States Navy from January 7, 1951, to November 27, 1954, stationed on the USS Ingersoll. On December 13, 1951, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Miller in Charleston, South Carolina. For 28 years, Marv worked for the feed industry selling feed on the road to dealers and managing feed mills in Princeton, Green Lake, Dalton and Kingston.
Marv loved his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, dancing and had an artistic talent that he used to draw and paint wildlife artwork on various items for family and friends. He was also passionate about planting trees.
Those Marv leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 74 years, Shirley Otto; 2 daughters, Cindy Gohlke, Brenda (Tim) Sosinsky; 2 sons, Steve (Liz) Otto, Tom Otto; 14 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; brother, Arlon (Glenda) Otto; sister, LaVerne (Gary) Dean; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Walter, and Lester Otto; his sisters, Evelyn Harke and Lorraine Otto; son-in-law, Rick Gohlke.
A memorial service for Marv Otto will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 S. Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor Bruce Hanneman will officiate. Full military honors will follow the service at the church. Marv will be laid to rest at a later date in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
