Our glorious Lord welcomed Melvin Karl Schultz into Heaven on May 2, 2024, where he was joined by his dear son, Peter.

Melvin was born in Green Lake County on March 22, 1936, the son of Joseph and Minnie (Schulz) Schultz. He was baptized on December 6, 1936, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

In June of 1954, Melvin graduated from Ripon High School. He proudly served his country entering the United States Army on October 6, 1954 and had spent 2 years in Germany. When he had leave, he visited many of his relatives that lived in Germany. He was honorably discharged on September 26, 1956. He was then employed at Speed Queen/Alliance Manufacturing where he worked for 40 years and retired from the company as manager of technical support. On November 2, 1957, he married Elva Bethke at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Ripon with Pastor Ziesemer as the officiant. Melvin and Elva resided in Ripon their entire life.

Melvin was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He loved woodworking and built their first and second home along with many various woodworking projects over the years. Along with his wife, he traveled to many parts of the country, most of the 50 states including Hawaii and Alaska. They also traveled to Europe, the Caribbean, the Turks and Caicos Islands, Mexico, Central America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Those Melvin leaves behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Elva Schultz of Ripon; his 2 very dear grandsons, August and Gunnar Schultz who he loved very much; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; other relatives and friends.
