Nancy Lee Ebert

Nancy Lee Ebert, age 80, of Neshkoro, passed away at her home on Friday, August 21, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1946, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Rudolf and Eunice (Eldredge) Biring.

On February 5, 1966, Nancy married Walter Ebert at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Forest Park, IL. Together, Nancy and Walter built a life centered around their family, community and faith. They owned and operated Do It Best Hardware Store and Once Upon A Dream Store in Princeton for many years. Nancy was a longtime member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Princeton, where she sang in the church choir. She was also a member of the Princeton Lions Club. Nancy enjoyed reading and especially cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family, her church, and the people she loved were an important part of her life.

Nancy’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her three children, Janice (Terry) Sage of Rockton, IL, Timothy (Carrie) Ebert of Bartlett, IL, and Michael Ebert of Neshkoro; seven grandchildren, Zach, Ariel, Emmi, Clay, Martine, Macey, and Myles; four great-grandchildren, Luna, Clara, Kai, and Sky; along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolf and Eunice Biring; her husband, Walter Ebert on August 19, 2003; her two sisters, Donna and Evelyn.

A funeral service for Nancy Lee Ebert will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, 202 S. Farmer St., in Princeton. Pastor Charles Schultz will officiate. Burial will follow the service in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Neshkoro. Nancy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her memory will live on through the family she loved and the many lives she touched throughout her years.
