Norman “Buster” Sonderman, age 72, of Green Lake, WI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin. He was born on May 21, 1952, in Cleveland, OH, a son of Norman H. and Lucille (Kolb) Sonderman.
Buster received his Master’s Degree from the Illinois State University. He was the Director of the Parks and Recreation District in Oregon, IL, for several years. Norman moved on to become the University of Wisconsin Extension Agent for Langlade County and later was the case manager for ADVOCAP. He was currently the custodian at the Caestecker Public Library in Green Lake and had been employed there for the past 13 years. Buster loved life and had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed fishing, kayaking, camping, frisbee golf, and Yahtzee. Norman also enjoyed having his own vegetable garden and growing his own strawberries, which he used to make his homemade jam and jellies. To help pollenate his garden he was also a beekeeper. Buster was a collector of maps, loved World War II documentaries and exploring.
Norman is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Joanne Koestner; children, Rachel Marie Sonderman, Phillip Zachary Sonderman; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Charlene Salte, Janice (Brad) Banwart; brother, Marc (Linda) Sonderman; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman H. and Lucille Sonderman; his cat, Meow.
