Patricia "Pat" Bornick

Patricia “Pat” Bornick, age 86, of Montello, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage, WI. Pat was born on October 17, 1934, in Garrett, Indiana, a daughter of Glenn and Ethel (Starner) Shirk.

On December 5, 1964, Pat married Lester Bornick at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, WI. They were married 43 years at the time of Lester’s passing on August 21, 2007. Pat and Lester drove for 12 years from 1985-1997 as food transporters for the Marquette County Elderly Nutrition Program. She retired but came back from 1999-2009 as the Neshkoro Add Life Dining Site Manager. 

Pat was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Montello. She truly enjoyed the Senior Bowling League in Princeton on Tuesday mornings and had also enjoyed bird watching, gardening and doing word search puzzles.

Those Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, David Bornick of Montello; 3 brothers, Joseph (Carolyn) Shirk, Donald Shirk, Gene Shirk; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ethel Shirk; her husband, Lester Bornick; 3 sisters, Barb, Kate and Marilyn; 2 brothers, Steven and Carson. 

A funeral service for Patricia “Pat” Bornick will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Big Mecan) W1568 Evergreen Ave, Montello. Pastor Peter Zietlow will officiate. Pat will be laid to rest in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
